When Nathan first sent me the tracks for his upcoming EP I was blown away by his beautifully delicate storytelling. We discussed the heart behind his songs and after a while I had my goal - capture the feeling of a nostalgic childhood romance.
Artwork in Motion
Nathan also needed a looping motion for his Spotify canvas an social media posts. 2.5D character animation can be time consuming and often becomes an unwanted distraction from the final piece. Instead, I opted to breathe some life into this artwork through a light breeze blowing leaves and petals across the scene, flows swaying gently, and a bit of film-grain for a touch of nostalgia.
Concept
In the end Nathan liked the concept artwork so much he asked to use it for his single version of 'as long as i'm with you'.
